Biography

Advanced Topics in Media Production (Honors) is a year-long immersive studio experience designed for experienced media creators who are ready to conceive, develop, and produce original cinematic works from concept to public premiere. Through collaborative production labs, participants refine their expertise in narrative design, directing, cinematography, editing, lighting, and sound design while cultivating a distinctive creative voice as visual storytellers.

Rooted in professional production practice and fueled by creative exploration, the course encourages artists to think ambitiously, take risks, and push the boundaries of their craft. The year culminates in a festival-ready capstone film and curated public screening, showcasing each media producer’s growth, vision, and professional-level achievement.

 

Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Honors-Level Media Production course requires successful completion of Advanced Media Production or instructor approval, granted upon review of a portfolio or film that demonstrates creative and technical proficiency appropriate for honors-level study.
