Biography

I was welcomed into Menlo’s Upper School History department in 1999, after starting my teaching career at an international school near Trieste, Italy. I fell in love with history as a college student. So I followed up with grad school in Renaissance and Reformation studies.

At Menlo, I’ve been lucky enough to teach classes all over the map: World Religions, Modern World, AP European History, Humanities, U.S. History, Modern Middle East, IP Capstone and Leadership Case Studies. I helped coordinate Menlo’s WASC accreditation process, and now serve as editor of The Menlo Roundtable (our journal of excellent student research, writing, and achievement) and as an Academic Advisor.

My husband (and Menlo colleague) and I have teenagers of our own at home and in college. We try to read widely, walk in nature frequently and breathe deeply. But we’re also partial to classic movies at the Stanford Theater and hazelnut gelato.
