Upper School History, Roundtable Editor

UC Berkeley, Bachelor of Arts
UC Santa Barbara, Master of Arts

I was welcomed into Menlo’s Upper School History department in 1999, after starting my teaching career at an international school in Italy. As a college student, I studied history at Berkeley and did an MA in Early Modern Europe at UC Santa Barbara. At Menlo, I’ve been lucky enough to teach classes all over the map: World Religions, Modern World, AP European History, Humanities, U.S. History, Modern Middle East, IP Capstone and most recently Leadership Case Studies. I helped coordinate Menlo’s most recent WASC accreditation process, serve as editor of The Menlo Roundtable–our journal of excellent student research, writing, and achievement–and work on committees to shape some of Menlo’s special programs: M Term and Menlo IP.

My husband (and Menlo colleague) and I have 3 children, whose interests and activities we spend our free time engaging in as transporters and enthusiastic fans: music, drama, dance, cooking, lemonade stands, and sleepovers. Periodicals, classic novels and history books clutter my nightstand and I’m always looking to spend more time in the beautiful California outdoors.
