Middle School Drama Presents

The 2026-2027 Season

Menlo Middle School Drama is thrilled to announce our 2026–2027 season—and it’s going to be an unforgettable year on stage!

This fall, we journey across time and space with A Wrinkle in Time, adapted by James Sie from the beloved novel by Madeleine L’Engle. Join Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin as they battle darkness, discover courage, and travel beyond the stars. Performances run November 13–15, 2026. If you love storytelling, imagination, and larger-than-life characters, this is your moment.

In winter, the spotlight turns to Broadway Knights: A Winter Cabaret! Open to performers in grades 6–12, this high-energy showcase celebrates the magic of musical theater with songs, solos, and ensemble numbers from Broadway favorites. Performances run January 28–31, 2027. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or trying the stage for the first time, this is your chance to shine.

Then this spring, get ready for adventure with The Lightning Thief, featuring a book by Joe Tracz and music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki. Follow Percy Jackson on an epic quest filled with gods, monsters, and nonstop action. Performances run May 21–23, 2027. If you’ve ever wanted to be part of a bold, high-energy musical, this is the show for you.

No matter your experience level, there is a place for you in our season—onstage, backstage, and everywhere in between. Auditions are open, welcoming, and a chance to grow, take risks, and be part of something truly special.

We can’t wait to see you there. Let’s make some magic.

Middle School Drama Course Offerings

Grade: 6

Drama 6

In this quarter-long course, students learn the fun and basic skills of drama. From discovering the expressive elements of dramatic activity to learning theatre terminology, students will explore all of the work that goes into a play, both onstage and behind the scenes! Through story-telling techniques and introductory improvisational games, students develop a greater sense of confidence, self-awareness, and self-expression. We’ll strengthen creative thinking and public speaking skills as we present our work to one another within group settings. The skills from this class integrate across the curriculum spectrum as students are able to apply their learned dramatic techniques to other class assignments, such as oral presentations, creative thinking, and problem-solving. The course culminates with a Creative Arts Assembly where the students showcase highlights from their semester.
