Boys’ basketball falls to Sacred Heart Cathedral

Knights jump out to early lead

12.17.2022 – The Menlo boys’ basketball team dropped a 72-50 decision to Sacred Heart Cathedral in the Cañada College Invitational at Menlo-Atherton on Saturday.
The Knights (3-4) jumped out of the blocks, taking a 21-17 first-quarter lead with senior Lucas Vogel sinking three three-pointers. Vogel finished with 26 points and three steals while fellow senior Will Eggemeier had eight rebounds and seven points. Junior Julian Brooks pitched in with 10 points and senior Robby Enright had four assists.
The Irish (4-2) pulled in front late in the second quarter with a 38-36 lead at halftime. SHC employed a full-court press and went on a 20-8 third-quarter run to take the lead for good.
Fedrick Pernell scored 15, RI Miller 12 and Jerry Mixon 11 for the Irish.
