WCAL Tournament: Boys’ lacrosse beats Mitty

5.2.2023 – The Menlo boys’ lacrosse team rallied to beat visiting Mitty 7-6 in the first round of the WCAL Tournament on Tuesday.
Nicky Scacco scored with 16 seconds left and Menlo stopped Mitty in the final seconds for the win.
With four minutes left in the game, freshman Palmer Rlley scored on a feed from senior Lucas Vogel and Menlo led 6-5 before Mitty countered on man-up to tie 6-6 in the waning minutes.
Menlo freshman Caden Chock ignited the offense in the fourth, scoring to end the third quarter with Menlo trailing 4-3, Minutes later in the fourth, Caden assisted on sophomore James Wernikoff’s goal and the teams were tied.
Menlo freshman goalie Benjamin Chock recorded 21 saves.
The Knights trailed 3-0 before senior Ari Krane delivered a pair of goals and Menlo traliled 3-2 at halftime..
The No. 3 Knights will play at No. 2 Sacred Heart Prep on Thursday.
