CCS: Boys’ tennis falls 4-3 in final; NorCals next

Knights lose to Cupertino

5.12.2023 – n a chess game of a CCS Championships rematch, the Menlo boys’ tennis team fell 4-3 this time to Cupertino 4-3 on Friday at Bay Club Courtside.
The teams met last year with Menlo taking a 4-3 win and the CCS and NorCal title. Both teams are headed to NorCals which begins next week at Broadstone Sports Club in Folsom.
Ben Levin and Kavan Kumar got Menlo started with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles, but the Knights were down 3-1.
Menlo junior Evan Burnett prevailed at No. 1 singles in a tie-breaker. Sophomore Cooper Han did the same at No,2 singles, winning in a tiebreak.
