Football (3-0) shuts down Watsonville 51-6

Mikey McGrath throws for two TDs, rushes for two more.

Menlo senior quarterback Mikey McGrath engineered a 51-6 win over Watsonville

9.9.2023 – While the Menlo School defense was stalwart as ever, the offense was prolific, scoring at nearly every opportunity in a 51-6 win over Watsonville at home Saturday.
The Knights (3-0) have held their opponents to 27 points, and with this game, now have 87 points.
Menlo senior quarterback Mikey McGrath passed for two touchdowns - both to senior Nicky Scacco - and ran for two more. Knights senior Willis Johnson bookended a pair of powerful  touchdowns -one rushing and the other receiving -in the first and final quarters.
The Wildcats’ second drive past midfield was stopped short. The Wildcats got to the Knights’ 32 before David Mhatre delivered a sack for an 8-yard loss. Then Mhatre combined with Palmer Riley and John Floyd to force fourth down right before the half.
Menlo would march down the field on its first drive of the second half, buoyed by runs from Johnson and McGrath passes to a host of receivers Harry Housser, Scacco, Bradford Tudor and Brady Jung and a pair of Wildcats penalties. McGrath would take it in from the 3 and Menlo led 28-0 with 8:15 left
