Menlo boys’ water polo opened with wins over Clovis West and Carlsbad, and finished the weekend 2-2 for fourth place in the 25th Annual Scott Roche Invitational at home Friday and Saturday.
Playing without a key starter, Menlo came out against last year’s tournament champion, La Jolla, scoring two quick goals, but could not hold off the Vikings.
Knights goalie Cormac Mulloy led all players with five steals from the goal in his 1 half of play and Nic Ekstrand earned two ejections for the Knights.
Davis is crowned the Scott Roche Invitational Champion for the first time ever.
