Flag football wins 10 in a row

10.16.2023 – The Menlo girls’ flag football team picked up a pair of victories, defeating Pioneer 27-0 and 24-0 in a doubleheader at home Monday.

The Knights improved to 10-1 and have outscored their opponents 287-65.
In the first game, Menlo freshman Ava Allen three threw four touchdown passes - two of those to senior Kylie Jones, one to junior Ellie Knoll and one to sophomore Sophie Housser. Menlo freshman Anya Khan had a sack and interception while Jones added an interception.
In Game 2, sophomore Bianca Putanec had a pick then Arreola followed suit, running her interception back for an early score. Junior Mary Mahe passed to Arreola for a TD right before the half.
Arreola made it a hat trick, hauling in a pass from freshman Chloe Lien. Sophomore Julia Axelrod would pick up a pair of interceptions in the second half and Putanec scored the final touchdown on a pass from Lien.
