Magical round of 7-under 30 for Eric Yun

Personal best for senior

Menlo School senior Eric Yun shot a personal-best 7-under 30 at Baylands Golf Links in Menlo’s match vs. Sacred Heart Prep. Menlo (3-2) carded its low score of the young season, but fell 205-197.
“We’ve played our toughest teams - Crystal and SHP are very good teams,” Yun said. The Knights and Gators congratulated Yun on his round.
It was his lowest score nine holes ever. He topped his previous best of 6-under, also at Baylands when he was a sophomore.
Yun carded an eagle, six birdies, par and a bogey at Baylands. He said when he got the eagle on No. 3, he said he thought “this is kind of cool.” Once he handled a tricky putt on the fifth hole for birdie, “I was hoping for the best on that one,” it became even more evident he was in for an outstanding round.
Yun has been medalist in each of his five matches. Baylands is just miles from his house and is the Knights home, so Yun has teed off many times on the course. Much of his family - grandparents and parents - were on hand to watch his magic.
“It was a special round for sure, and I’m so fortunate that my family is nearby,” said Yun, who is set to study and play at Princeton where his brother Jeremy is a junior on the golf team.
