Baseball’s fifth-inning rally beats Aragon

Mikey McGrath’s 2-run double, Luke Rogers’ 2-run hit fuel comeback

The Menlo baseball team used a four-run fifth to top visiting Aragon 4-2 in Peninsula Athletic League-Ocean play Tuesday,
Senior first baseman Mikey McGrath lined a double to left-center to score Garrett Tran and Luke Rogers in the fifth as the Knights held on for the comeback.
Senior Ryan Schnell picked up the win for Menlo (13-7 overall, 5-2 PAL-Ocean), scattering nine hits, striking out two and walking none.
The Knights ended the fourth inning on a double play, then went to work at the plate. Down 2-0, junior Luke Rogers singled on a fly ball, driving in two to tie the score. Senior Garrett Tran’s bunt single loaded the bases after junior Nikhil Panthak was hit and sophomore Jack Freehill singled on a bunt.
McGrath and Rogers each had two hits, two RBI. Jake Sonsini added a double.
Joey Mazzola’s double in the second gave the Dons an early lead.
