Girls’ lacrosse stops St. Francis in OT

Jones delivers winner; Knights improve to 6-3 

The Menlo girls’ lacrosse team outlasted host St. Francis 12-11 in overtime in WBAL play Friday.
The Knights (9-4 overall) improve to 6-3 and hold on to third place in league.
Knights senior Kylie Jones delivered the winner in overtime after Menlo made a remarkable second-half comeback.
Menlo junior Devon Schaefer came up with 12 saves as the Knights allowed only two second-half goals.
Down 9-6 at half, Menlo pulled even with a four-goal fourth. Goals by Jones, junior Ari Kaufman got Menlo within two. Sophomore Elia Choe scored to pull within one and sophomore Marin Yamada put Menlo ahead 10-9 with 2 minutes left in regulation. The Lancers scored with a minute left to send the game to overtime.
