Welcome to Menlo

Diving in to Menlo Athletics

We can’t wait to see you on the courts, the fields, and in the pool.

The Knights Athletics program proudly features 45 Upper School sports teams, and more than 80 percent of Upper School students participate in sports each year. Menlo offers unparalleled opportunities and standards of excellence for athletes of all skill levels, ranging from novices to college-bound athletes. Menlo coaches are dedicated to helping student-athletes reach their potential and teaching invaluable life skills through sports.

Here’s what you need to know and do to sign up for Menlo’s Upper School Athletics program:

MAY

  • Plan to play a sport? Sign up for Menlo Athletics here by the start of school.
  • Optional: Register to attend one of Menlo’s summer camps. Girls’ flag football, tennis and volleyball are offering programs for rising Upper School students this summer.
  • Book an appointment for after June 1 with your healthcare provider for a health exam.
  • Late May/Early June, watch your email for details on setting up your student health account. You’ll want to download a blank copy of the physical form prior to your health exam.

JUNE & JULY

  • After June 1, visit your doctor and complete your health exam and have the doctor sign the required forms.
  • Complete your health forms (information coming soon) and submit them online before fall sports practice or by July 31 for winter and spring athletes.
  • All athletes need to undergo baseline testing with Menlo’s Sports Medicine staff prior to the start of practices. Check with your coach for the timing of the team appointment, book an appointment for baseline Sway testing or contact Head Athletic Trainer Aubrey Fennell.
  • Read Athletics Student-Athlete and Parent Handbook (2024-25 coming soon) and submit your acknowledgment in the student health portal.
  • Nearly all fall sports begin training before school starts. See summer training details below.
  • Save the Date: Aug. 22, Athletics Opening Day—all students interested in participating in our Athletics Program in any season should plan to attend at 3:15 pm.
